We are a network of researchers and teachers committed to exploring the global histories of cultural studies. We are interested in the multiple international legacies of Stuart Hall and his allies—institutional manifestations in particular—and in expanding our understanding of how cultural studies was shaped by and taken up in different cultural and geographical settings to various ends.
The map below details some of our current collaborators and the geographical locations they are exploring.
We are currently developing a number of projects, including:
- A global history of cultural studies
- Translations of material in Stuart Hall’s archives
- Network analysis and mapping of Stuart Hall’s collaborators
- A working bibliography of Global Cultural Studies resources, available to access via this link
- A collection of materials used in teaching cultural studies around the world.
We also run an online discussion group every couple of months.
Please do get in touch if you would like to participate or for more information at culturalstudiesglobal[at]gmail.com.
